The forest of Coat Mallouen is littered with huge granite boulders and bizarre rock formations. This cave overlooks the ‘cascade’, a point in the river where the water tumbles over a waterfall strewn with rocks. The forest served as a hide-out for the famous ‘Coatmallouen Maquis’, a group of 300 resiters during the 2nd World War. The caves were used as armament storhouses.
